It is becoming harder and harder to find quality wineries that allow children. We have a vivacious 5-year-old and can’t always rely on a sitter every time we want to head to a winery. I thought I would share two kid-friendly wineries that we recently fell in LOVE with. From the warm, welcoming environments, to the high quality wine, you will not be disappointed.
Oasis by Hoopes is located just minutes from downtown St.Helena and is one of the most unique wineries we have experienced. As soon as we got to our table, there was an adorable kids basket for my son, stocked full of animal crackers, bubbles, juice and a coloring page.
The property has two airstream trailers that are set up for exploring. They also serve as a fun backdrop for picture taking. Oasis by Hoopes is also the home of several rescue farm animals that kids can visit and pet while you sit and enjoy your wine.
Our next stop was actually for lunch. Wine tasting makes you hungry (at least it makes me hungry), so we headed to family-friendly Gott’s Roadside in downtown St.Helena. Gott’s Roadside offered SO much more than I was expecting. From gourmet burgers and kale salad to wild Mahi Mahi tacos. They even had a vegan burger option. I highly recommend having lunch here when visiting St.Helena. Everyone left full and happy.
3. Tres Sabores
Our next tasting appointment was Tres Sabores, a family-owned, women-led winery that produces certified organic Cabernet, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Petit Verdot.
Upon arrival we were asked if we would like to hold one of their new 2-week-old baby goats. We of course said yes and were in complete Heaven. The hostess also offered our little boy a bottle of bubbles, an organic apple juice box and some crayons and paper to color with at the table. Now that is a true kid-friendly winery!
Tres Sabores and Oasis by Hoopes are open by-appointment, so make sure to call ahead to make a reservation.
