Summer is here in St. Helena! The air is warm, the sun is bright and the vineyards are verdant in anticipation of harvest. It’s full swing in the Napa Valley as wineries and restaurants are welcoming visitors from all over the world to our wine country door step. What are the can’t miss events this August in St. Helena? Pull out your calendar, we’re about to fill it up!

Picnics In The Park

Every other Thursday 6p-8pm

The 29th season of a St. Helena tradition, Musical Picnics in Lyman Park, is underway! Music fills the park every other Thursday with the next one kicking off July 13th from 6pm-8pm. Grab a picnic basket or try one of the Napa Valley’s gourmet food trucks. Local favorite wines will be for sale or bring your own and enjoy the musical entertainment while sitting under the trees and on the lawn of Lyman Park. The musical lineup is eclectic for all types of music fans from singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Johnston to reggae and rock ’n roll!

Charles Krug Pizza’s On The Lawn

Thursdays-Mondays
11am-4pm

Charles Krug’s Cucina di Rosa Salumeria is now offering handcrafted salumi and artisan cheeses daily! Their new Estate Chef Daryl Muromoto—who has worked for such renowned culinary destinations as Meadowood in St. Helena, the girl & the fig in Sonoma, and the former Postrio in San Francisco—brings his expertise to their Cucina di Rosa. Part-Sicilian, Daryl has an intrinsic love of Italian cooking and a passion for wine.

Beginning in July, enjoy wood-fired pizza on their tree-lined lawn (Thursday through Mondays) from 11 to 4. Pair these Italian-inspired delicacies with a delicious glass of Charles Krug wine!

Weekend BBQ’s & Wood-fired Pizza at V. Sattui Winery

Saturdays & Sundays, 11:30am-3:30pm

Enjoy Italian-style thin crust pizzas, made to order in a wood-fired pizza oven. Sink your teeth into BBQ Ribs, Salmon Sandwiches, Tri-tip Steaks, and Jalapeno Skewers. Or try their house-pulled mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes, grilled bread & basil, with your choice of sauces. You’ve chosen your wine, your food, and now it’s time to relax and enjoy the Napa Valley scenery! They have more than 2 acres of shaded picnic grounds surrounded by giant oak trees, flowers and vineyards.

Music In The Vineyards-23rd Season!

Friday, August 4th to Sunday, August 27th

Here are the 12 winery hosts:
Charles Krug, Chimney Rock, Clos Pegase, Domaine Carneros, Freemark Abbey, Frog’s Leap, The Hess Collection, Inglenook, Jamieson Ranch, MerryvaleRobert Mondavi and Silverado Vineyards. They will also celebrate the inaugural year of the St. Helena Performing Arts Center with a Friday evening concert.  Concerts take place on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays through to August 27th.

 

Live Music on The Lawn At Beringer

Saturdays, 12:30pm-4:30pm

Enjoy live music and picnicking on the Great Lawn. Sherry Shack will be open for picnic items and wines by the glass from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Arrive early to reserve your picnic spot. Bocce court and Corn Hole are also available.

Cochon 555 Heritage Fire

CELEBRATING ALL HERITAGE BREEDS (PIG, COW, GOAT, LAMB + MORE)

Created in 2008, Heritage Fire Napa is a showcase over 50 notable chefs and butchers, each grilling heritage-breed animals en plein air against the a stunning vineyard backdrop. The event features responsibly raised food and traditional outdoor cooking inspired by global food cultures. It is all paired with free-flowing wines from boutique producers, craft beers, and small-batch artisan ciders. The list of heritage and heirloom foods includes dry-aged beef, whole pigs, lamb, goat, squab, rabbit, duck, fish, chicken, artisan cheeses, oysters, and heirloom vegetables.
