The Robert Louis Stevenson Museum is proud to present its first RLSM Youth Writing Open Mic, an evening dedicated to celebrating the creativity, imagination, and voices of young writers from across our community.

The event begins at 5:30 PM with the opening reception for our new Summer Camp Gallery Exhibition, showcasing original writing, artwork, and creative projects produced during this summer’s RLS Writing Camp.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition before the evening’s readings begin.

At 6:00 PM, the Youth Writing Open Mic takes the stage. Emceed by Stevenson Laureate Brandon Tagle, the program will feature selected readings from participants in both sessions of the RLS Writing Summer Camp, highlighting the remarkable work created throughout the program.

The stage is not limited to campers. Any writer or speaker age 18 and under is invited to participate.

Whether you write poetry, short stories, personal essays, spoken word, or another form of creative expression, we encourage you to share your work in a welcoming and supportive environment.

This is an opportunity for young people to find their voices, build confidence, and experience the excitement of presenting their work before a live audience.

Family members, friends, educators, and community supporters are warmly invited to attend.

Admission is free, and we hope you’ll join us in celebrating a new generation of writers inspired by the enduring legacy of Robert Louis Stevenson.
