Caldwell Snyder Gallery presents a solo exhibition of new works by Paul Balmer.
Balmer’s paintings exist between representation and abstraction, transforming cityscapes, landscapes, and still lifes into richly textured, emotionally resonant compositions.
Through subtle distortions and shifting perspectives, familiar subjects take on new dimensions, inviting active viewer engagement.
His unconventional palette and nuanced use of texture elevate everyday scenes into meditations on tranquility and perception, expanding traditional genres into a contemporary visual language.
Born in South Africa, Balmer received his BFA from Meadowbank College in Sydney and is now based in Connecticut. His work is held in numerous public and private collections worldwide.
