Come enjoy the exciting transformation of solid steel into a pliable, workable material through the fire of the forge.

This class will teach the fundamental skills needed to forge steel and understand blacksmithing tools.

Students will be introduced to material manipulation such as drawing [stretching the metal], upsetting [thickening the metal], hole punching, cutting, twisting, bending, and more!

A propane forge will be used in this workshop, and person safety instructions will be discussed.

Completed projects will consist of both decorative and functional pieces.

This workshop will bring a new view to the art ironwork, and you will never see decorative ironwork in the same way once you’ve created some of your own!

Students will work in a stress-free environment, progressing at their own rate, and will be encouraged to have a good time!

This workshop is designed for the beginning artist blacksmith.
