Join us in the Under-Study Teaching Kitchen for a hands-on baking experience celebrating the art of artisanal focaccia.
Begin the class with a welcome glass of Dom Pérignon Champagne before rolling up your sleeves to learn the techniques behind this beloved Italian bread.
Led by Head Baker Sarah Hermans, the class begins with a live demonstration of mixing focaccia dough, giving guests an understanding of the ingredients, hydration, and techniques that create its signature texture.
From there, you’ll take over—kneading, shaping, dimpling, and learning the importance of proper proofing while creating your own loaf.
Using fresh herbs, vegetables, and other seasonal ingredients harvested from our Yountville Farm, you’ll customize your focaccia with vibrant toppings while discovering how high-quality produce enhances both flavor and texture.
The experience concludes with a tasting of freshly baked focaccia, where you’ll explore flavor combinations, baking techniques, and practical tips for recreating bakery-quality bread at home.
Whether you’re new to bread baking or looking to refine your skills, you’ll leave with greater confidence, new techniques, and a deeper appreciation for the craft of breadmaking.
In this workshop, you will:
- Learn the fundamentals of making focaccia from scratch
