3rd Saturday Hike, Mushrooms at Bothe

3rd Saturday Hike, Mushrooms at Bothe

Brown mushroom growing in forest floor foliage

Event Details

Mushrooms are an ephemeral part of the ecosystems around us.

We use them for food and medicine, and they form symbiotic relationships with organisms around them.

And with early and sustained rains the fruiting bodies of those extensive mycelium networks are everywhere in all their funky, fungi glory.

Come join the Napa Open Space District to learn basic mushroom identification at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park.

This year should be a great year for mushrooms and we have high hopes that we’ll be able to see and discuss a wide variety on this hike.

The hike will be approximately three miles, starting in the day use area at Bothe Park.
