St. Helena’s healthy economy is fueled by a range of industries, from viticulture to healthcare, hospitality to retail. According to our latest census, we had 689 businesses within our city limits. Three of our largest employers, Harvest Inn by Charlie Palmer, St. Helena Hospital and Meadowood Resort offer opportunities in hospitality and health care. Besides the hospital, we’re home to eight medical practices, five dental offices, and at least four law firms. In the wine industry, Sutter Home Winery, Treasury Wine Estates, Charles Krug Winery, and Constellation Brands are among the biggest players, with more than 400 other wineries located throughout the Napa Valley. In addition to Meadowood and Harvest Inn, St. Helena has hotels, Bed and Breakfasts and nearly 20 restaurants, with hundreds more throughout the Valley. Safeway and Sunshine Foods are big employers, as well.
In addition to these, St. Helena has a healthy real estate, banking and financial services industry. From construction and event planners to viticulture supplies, we have a wide range of local serving businesses employing thousands of residents. Check out our business directory to see more.
More employment opportunities can be found in Napa, Santa Rosa, Sonoma, and Marin. And there are easy commute options for those traveling into the San Francisco Bay Area for work, such as VINE Transit, which has direct routes to BART and the Vallejo port of San Francisco Bay Ferry.
