Tamber Bey Vineyards was founded in 1999 by Barry Waitte, who longed to escape Silicon Valley for the Napa Valley of his childhood. He wanted to create a place where he could grow the finest grapes in the valley and raise and enjoy his Arabian horses. Today, Tamber Bey Vineyards is renowned for its 100% estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Chardonnay. The wines are handcrafted by celebrated winemaker Mike Smith, whose skills result in award-winning, single-varietal wines and masterful Bordeaux-style blends.
The Tamber Bey Oakville Estate is home to Waitte’s world-class Arabian endurance horses. The wine company and estate is named after his first two horses: Tamborina “Tamber” and Beyamo “Bey.”
TASTE
The Tamber Bey Vineyards Tasting Room brings all the elements of the Tamber Bey Oakville Estate to town. The equestrian-themed tasting room features a friendly wine bar, a comfortable lounge for relaxing with friends, a private tasting room and outdoor patio seating. Our knowledgeable staff will guide you through a tasting of our current-release wines. Experience a flight of three wines for $15 or a flight of five wines for $25, paired with a selection of sweet and savory cookies. Our wine and cookie pairing is the best—and only—pairing of its kind in Napa Valley. We also serve our wines by the glass and bottle.
The Tamber Bey wine list includes estate-grown Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and a selection of Bordeaux-style blends from our two family-owned vineyards in Oakville and Yountville. On any given day you are likely to find owner Barry Waitte behind the bar, pouring wine and telling stories about his wine and horses.
The Tamber Bey Tasting Room is open daily from 10 am to 8 pm. No appointment is necessary for groups of six or fewer. For large groups or to reserve our private tasting room, call us at 707-968-5345. We are located at 1234 Adams St., west of Main St., between Sportago and the Napa Valley Coffee Co. Unrestricted parking is available behind the tasting room.
TOUR
Although the Oakville Estate property is not open to the public for wine tasting, Waitte does enjoy leading visitors on a tour of the English gardens and horse stables. For inquires, call 707-815-8581.
