Fantesca is a boutique winery producing less than 800 cases of estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a limited production Chardonnay from select vineyards in Los Carneros. It also provides custom crush services for select clients across the valley.
The essence of its terroir has established the Spring Mountain District as a favorite Napa Valley destination for multitudes of wine lovers. At Fantesca Estate & Winery, renowned terroir and artisan winemaking combine to produce wines of character and refinement that pair well with food, fun, and friends.
Fantesca Estate & Winery's winemaker Heidi Barrett, who has been referred to as “The Wine Diva of Napa” and even “The First Lady of Wine,” is surely one of the hardest-working women in Napa Valley, if not the entire world of winemaking. Well-regarded for the exceptionally high quality of wines she has produced for Amuse Bouche, Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle and her own winery, La Sirena, Heidi Barrett has assured her place as one of the world's premium producers of Napa Valley wines
The winery's namesake, Fantesca, played the maidservant role in 16th century Italian plays of Commedia dell' Arte. She was a bold & vivacious character who graced the theater at a time when only men were permitted on stage. Her smart, sexy wit was adored by all, but desired most by Harlequin. It is from her fiery spirit that we draw inspiration for our wine.
