Event Description: TASTE OF CIA COOKBOOKS When it comes to cooking, we wrote the book—and then some! Our wide variety of cookbooks cover just about every culinary niche, from brunch and breads to butchery and braising. In these 5-hour hands-on classes, you'll chop and cook and bake from our pages and then take the book home to do it all again in your own kitchen. Maximum enrollment: 14 people per class Pricing: $250.00 per person Sharpening Your Knife Skills: Professional chefs agree…the number one tool in the kitchen is a quality knife. And, since knives provide the foundation for good food, it’s essential for every cook to understand the ins and outs of this precious tool. In this all-important class, we’ll teach you all about knife selection, maintenance, and usage. You’ll learn everything you need to know about knife care, knife handling and safety, and knife cuts. From creating a dice to producing a chiffonade, you’ll gain the skills needed to take your cooking to the next level. Participants of this class will receive a copy of the CIA’s textbook In the Hands of a Chef, along with a CIA logo apron to take home with you.
Directions:
The CIA is approximately 1/4 mile north of the town of St. Helena on the left, 1 1/2 – 2 hours north of San Francisco in the heart of the Napa Valley.
